Biosafety Procedure Profile Form

As part of the administrative requirements for operating a lab using BSL-2 containment procedures, the lab must have written standard operating procedures (SOPs) which include biosafety considerations. The form below can be attached to an SOP to meet this requirement. This form can also be attached to a group of SOPs that have the same infectious disease exposure or biological containment risk as appropriate.

Health Canada’s Material Safety Data Sheets for Agents Infectious to Humans

This website has information sheets for all agents that are infectious to humans. The sheets include descriptions of the organisms, risk populations, history of lab-acquired infections and agent inactivation information. If your lab works with agents infectious to humans, you need to place copies of applicable agent MSDS in Section 4 of your Lab’s Biosafety Manual.
